The Aftermath

The aftermath! The southerly came through fast and furious. The temperature dropped to just 2 degrees (out of the wind) in less than 5 minutes and the sleet/snow arrived. John, Pascal and Dean were the only remaining riders on the range but they had to beat a hasty retreat to the nearest shelter.

John. Pascal and Dean happy to be out of the weather. A very, very cold descent to lower altitudes as the white stuff began to accumulate!

And this is what it looked like a mere 60 minutes later from Alexandra! — at Alexandra Township, Central Otago.
