The Original Great Southern Brevet

Busy day on the Pisa Range

The hardy remaining souls on the GSB 2016 continue their relentless journey, sounds too tough, perhaps their ongoing adventure with the Pisa Range Crossing. Pretty much a straight up, straight down affair but at over 40 kms there was room to explore the top a bit in between. The weather wasn't overly generous but the wind and the cloud both threatened all day but neither discouraged the riders.

Kim and Ali on the other side just dropping down onto the hard stuff
Some big smiles on the Pisa Descent

Ian and Wendy recounting the cold but spectacular crossing

Stephanie in full downhill mode, concentrating on the job

Rosie and Craig take time out from the descent to pose
And then they are off into the distance!
And riders marked a major milestone today. They are halfway. Between the Equator and the South Pole that is!

Eat well and Live Life? Subway's motto pretty much sums up the Brevet ;-)

Things have settled down on the txt check-ins after yesterdays excitement.

Russell & Cjell feeling replete after enchiladas and beer at Cromwell. Good day over the Pisa. Got a few moments of view after the top which was great. Could see properly how mad last nights Grand View effort was!

I take it back, Lawernce from Clutha River Cruises was brilliant and the boat ride was awesome. Now in roxburgh.

For those riders descending the Pisa Range there was the added bonus of a full scale view of the previous days effort!

The offending Grandview Range or should that be offensive! Riders traveled from left to right.
