The Original Great Southern Brevet

Long day for most on Day 2 of the Great Southern Brevet

With a very fast first day many riders were place for a double on day 2. Thomsons Gorge and Grandview Ridge. Decent rides each on their own but together they would be a long and hard day.

Bikes at Tarras, now where are all the riders?

Rosie and Craig, would you like fries with your salt!

Grandview Ridge early on, hence they are still smiling

From Scott Dunavan, he managed to find some shade on Grandview from the blistering sun

From Scott again, looks like plenty of traffic in the foreground on the climb up Grandview

Grandview and a very late afternoon tea

The final push, literally and figuratively

Txt Check-ins beginning to get a little animated. One might think Grandview Ridge was hard ;-)

Hoog Gareth and self at wanaka after mega short cut. Riding bikes is fun but pushing them is s.....! Took the best way to lessen the pain and make ride enjoyable and not be out there in the dark.

Cromwell. Hedley. Nothing is open!

Several riders made it to Cromwell today (or more correctly late tonight!). For the mere mortals the Pisa Range remains in their way to Cromwell.

The Pisa Range, from 20kms away :-)
